This year, at Capa Esculturas, we have had the honour of producing the 18 trophies for the 2019 and 2020 editions of the 7 Stars of Sport Awards. Due to the pandemic, these awards could not be held on their usual dates, which made this year’s awards even more special.
Recognising sporting excellence
The 7 Estrellas del Deporte Awards, granted by the Community of Madrid, recognise individuals and entities that have stood out in the promotion, encouragement and development of sport in the region. In particular, the following categories are awarded:
- Best Male Athlete
- Best Female Athlete
- Best Sports Entity of the Community of Madrid
- Promise of Sport of the Community of Madrid
- Promoting Sport through Local Government
- Promoting Sport through Private Initiative
- Promotion of Values
- Sportsmanship Award
- Inclusive Sport Award
These awards seek to recognise the effort and dedication of those who contribute to the growth of sport in the region.
The event
The award ceremony took place on 17 October at the Real Casa de Correos. In addition, from Capa we want to congratulate all the personalities and entities awarded for their contribution and initiatives in the sports world. In particular, among the award winners were, for example, F1 driver Carlos Sainz, rugby player Patricia García, soccer player Marcelo Vieira, athlete Sara Martínez, mountaineer Carlos Soria, the Atlético de Madrid Femenino club, and others.
