Winners of the Third Edition of the International Sculpture Contest of the Capa Foundry

Elena Galicia, Sculptor of small, medium and monumental works.

Pablo Redondo, sculptor and architect.

Miguel Cereceda, Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the UAM.

Raúl Fraga, Architect and Professor at ETSAM.

Antonio Valle, Sculptor and Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UCM.

Fernando Capa, General Director Capa Esculturas, as President.

Ricardo Santonja, Dr. in Architecture, I + D + ART. Professor of the ETSAM UPM, as Secretary, met on January 24, 2023 to make the selection from among the 194 works submitted, and the following works were awarded prizes.

Winners

– First prize: Work: ‘Circundo, atravieso y vuelo’, author: Pedro Lindez Lindez, a reproduction of the work, maximum size 1.20 metres, valued at 7000 €.


– Second prize: Work: ‘Homage to San Juan de la Cruz’ author: Juan Ramón Martín, a reproduction of the work, maximum size 1.00 metre, valued at €5,000.


– Third prize: Work: ‘Brothers’, author: Kari Lena, a reproduction of the work, maximum size 0.90 metre, valued at €3,000.


– Special Cosentino Prize: Work: “Humo”, author: Borja Barrajón a reproduction of the work, made with Cosentino materials, maximum dimension 0.90 meters, valued at 3000 €.

•Accesit Capa-Cosentino: Work: ‘Untitled’, author: Raquel Santonja.

-Accessit Capa-Cosentino: Work: ‘Biblioteca tectónica’, author: Andrés Sánchez Fernández.

-Accessit Capa-Cosentino: Work: ‘Cepa’, author: Adrián Carra.

The Capa Foundry with the union of the I+D+ART philosophy established as an objective of this III Edition to bring innovation and new techniques of creation, both to the established sculptors and to those who begin this adventure of sculpture and to give them a new way of creation with the technology that the Capa Foundry can provide in the XXI century.

Capa Esculturas thanks all the contestants for their effort and participation and will soon start the preparation of the Fourth Edition of the International Sculpture Competition of the Capa Foundry.
